( 1942 – 1959 )

   Invented by J.P. Eckert and J.W. Mauchly

   Known as ENIAC ( Electronic Numeric Integrator and Calculator )

   Few examples are, EDVAC, UNIVAC, IBM - 701,                    IBM - 650

   Vacuum tubes were the major component of this computers

   Very heavy and huge in size

   Binary Machine language was the programming language

   Magnetic tapes and Magnetic drums were used to store data in main memory

   Paper tapes and Punched cards were used as the input and output devices

   Almost took days or weeks to get the output of a programme
